Hi, for some reason, part of my breadcrumbs path is no longer hyperlinked. This feature used to work just fine, and I can’t think of what would have changed it. I’ve updated the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin, deactivated it, activated, checked the code in my theme, and all seems normal.

View this page on my site to see the problem:

    https://runningfavorites.com/healthcare/listing/vicky-brooks-lmt-bethany-phyiscal-therapy

The “Home” section is hyperlinked” as it should be, but the “Healthcare Providers” part of the breadcrumb is not longer a hyperlink, causing people to have to use the back button instead of clicking on the handy breadcrumb. Can anyone help?

  • I’ve looked into this, but cannot reproduce the issue. I have submitted some fixes to the breadcrumbs building, they may or may not fix this as well. Hopefully my fixes will be in the next version.

Thank you for looking into this. What does it mean that you’ve submitted some fixes to the breadcrumbs building?

It means that anyone can contribute to the plugin and send in fixes via a pull request on GitHub. Open source FTW ??

So in effect, I’ve send in a pull request (= suggested change to the plugin code) which may or may not fix your issue. My changes have been merged into the plugin master code in the mean time and will be included in the next official release.

    Does that explain it ?

    Yes. Thank you!

I have the exact same problem. Used to work fine, now everything after “home” is no longer linked. https://exploringenderby.com/directory/listing/birchdale-golf-course

tnightingale, what plugin are you using to create the directory? I’m wondering if perhaps we have that in common?

Good call Amy! Just glancing at both pages makes me suspect you may well be on the right track. Which plugin are you using ?

I’m using the Sabai Directory plugin, which is awesome. I’m just wondering if some kind of issue happened when the Sabai plugin was updated. I’ve emailed the developer and haven’t heard back on this issue yet. The breadcrumbs problem seems to be happening only on pages where the directory is installed.

I can’t find Sabai in the plugin directory. Is this a premium plugin ?

WPSEO uses the normal WP functions to retrieve the links, for a custom post type (which I suspect this is): get_post_type_archive_link( $pt_string ), for a taxonomy: get_term_link( $term_object ).

This has not changed in any of our recent updates or even in the last year or so, so yes, I would investigate if Sabai changed anything in their interaction with those functions in their recent updates.

I am having same problem my breadcrumbs do not show!

@relisys that is not the same problem. Please open your own thread or add to one of the several which are related, instead of hijacking someone else’s.

@jrf May i please remind you to use more manners, It was a genuine mistake on my part clearly! no need to run your keyboard..

I had a very much similar problem but it’s now fixed on the latest update!

@relisys, may I remind you of yours ? You could thank me for the fix instead of berating me.

@jrf, If you did make the recent update than i thank you for the hard work you have put in to getting back working again.

Finally, i would suggest you work on how you approach people on here, Yes some people may purposely hijack threads, but some people have similar problems even if its not the exact problem.

Instead of saying Please open your own thread or add to one of the several which are related, instead of hijacking someone else’s.

Maybe it’s worth revising your replies to the following.

“Hi {username} followed by a more appropriate answer to his problem. If you could kindly open a thread on the specific problem you are having, my self or someone who may have the solved solution will reply. They maybe a more direct thread/post to your problem could be found on a more revised search.”

This person could be genuine and maybe too busy to fully understand a full post or read hundreds of post already on the subject.

@relisys, I will not change my approach.

First of all: this is a free plugin without free support. If you want support, you should buy the premium version.
The fact that I’m currently monitoring the forums after the last few releases is a courtesy to the users, not something you should expect, let alone have any right to. So I will not falsely advertise support when there is none.

Second of all: read the official WP forum guidelines/etiquette. You are breaking them and all I did was pointing that out. I wasn’t being rude or anything.

This person could be genuine and maybe too busy to fully understand a full post or read hundreds of post already on the subject.

    And I’m not ???
