    Hello,

I’ve been using Yoast breadcrumbs with the Newspaper theme for a few years. My breadcrumbs use a custom taxonomy that I’ve updated in the Search Appearance settings, and I display them by pasting the Yoast code into the single template.

My theme is now offering cloud templates for better performance. I’m trying to migrate my site but I’m stuck on the breadcrumbs. I’m trying to use the Yoast shortcode in the cloud template editor, and it pulls in the Yoast breadcrumbs but not with the correct taxonomy. It just displays home and then the post name.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi! Yes, links are below and here is a short description of each:

    1. Yoast settings (using custom taxonomy instead of default category)

    2. Custom taxonomy structure

    3. Shortcode in page builder

    4. Output ignores Yoast settings

Thanks for sharing the relevant screenshots here with us. Can you please try testing the relevant breadcrumbs setting using the default 2021 theme to see whether you can reproduce the issue?

In addition, can you please confirm whether the issue persists whenever implementing the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs code directly into the template file instead of using the shortcodes? How to implement Yoast SEO breadcrumbs?

    Hello!

Yes, I was able to reproduce the issue after switching to the default 2021 theme and assigning my custom taxonomy under Yoast settings. The breadcrumbs appeared using the shortcode in WP Block Editor, but not using the custom taxonomy.

As for implementing directly in my theme file, they DO appear correctly, using the custom tax setting.

Hi! Thanks for the reply, but I tried testing with Rankmath (importing Yoast settings), and their shortcode worked with no problem. I don’t need a resolution anymore but wanted to let you know!
