    Hello,

I’ve been referred here by your premium support. I have already deactivated plugins and used default theme, I have also tried installing the plugin detective and it showed now actionable results. The problem my client is experiencing is that when the Events Calendar plugin in active all widgets (on the admin screen) become hidden. So when you log in and go to Appearances->Widgets (where much of the homepage look and information is controlled) it appears blank, on the left you have a selection of widgets on the right the widgets (the ones in use) aren’t there, like, at all. When I deactivate the Events Calendar plugin the widgets appear. I would really like to continue using this plugin as it is working with the Event Tickets plugin but if I’m not able to work with someone to get this fixed soon, I’m going to have to find another solution. Is this something that someone can help with? Thank you.

    Hello again,

I’ve found another site that this is happening on, I believe it would be wise to actually respond to this. I’m happy to offer up more information if someone would respond. I would have uploaded screenshots but I don’t see a way to do that here.

    Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching out ??

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties.

Yes please, if you could send over some screenshots, that should help. You can use any image hosting service and just paste links in your reply.

What versions of The Events Calendar and Event Tickets are you running?

Are you able to access the widget editor under Appearance ? Customize ? Widgets?

    Take care,
    Ed ??

    Hi Ed,

When I follow Appearance->Customize this shows a broken interface when the plugin is active. (see link)

When it is inactive it works as expected. (see link)

With the plugin active, when I follow the Admin Menu->Appearances->Widgets this is what I see … (see link)

when the plugin is deactivated I am seeing the following as expected (see link)

As you can see, this makes so that we have to turn off your plugin to make updates as the site is mainly controlled by widgets. A fix for this would be greatly appreciated.

The Events Tickets version is – 4.10.0.1

The Events Calendar version is – 4.8.1

They should be up to date. Thank you.

    Thanks for those!

Are you able to enable WP_DEBUG and observe any error messages when you try to access the widgets page?

What version of PHP is this site running?

Are there any other plugins active?

    Take care,
    Ed ??

    Hello,

    The PHP version is 7.1

There are, of course, other plugins. With all of them deactivated the issue still persists, the same with when I change to the default theme (plugins active or deactivated) the problem remains unchanged.

I currently have WP_Debug set to true and I am not seeing an error when I try to view the Widgets page, however, when I click the “Manage with Live Preview” button I can see this error …

“Parent (Subpages of): ? Fatal error: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: Too few arguments to function Tribe__Events__Front_Page_View::add_events_page_option(), 1 passed in /www/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 286 and exactly 3 expected in /www/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Front_Page_View.php:229 Stack trace: #0 /www/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): Tribe__Events__Front_Page_View->add_events_page_option(‘”

I’ve attached a screenshot of what I was seeing …

    https://pasteboard.co/I2QUR9y.png

    Does this help?

    Thanks for that!

Definitely helps. That screenshot of the error, shows subpages widget. Is this custom, or is it coming from a plugin?

I’m unable to get this error, but it could be a combination of things.

Let me know how you are getting that widget and I can do some more testing.

    Take care,
    Ed ??

With WP_Debug turned on, I got to Apperance->Widgets and click on the “Manage with live preview” button and that’s when I get the error, with the debug turned to false I don’t see that error.

… so it’s been three weeks since I last heard from you. I still want to get this fixed. I can setup a staging environment if that will help but I either need to get this solved (hopefully with your help) or I need to move to another product. Please let me know if you are going to continue to help me or if I should move on. Thank you.

Hello? Is issue something you are no longer willing or able to work on? I really need this fixed, if this is something that is impossible for you to fix please let me know. I am totally willing to work with you to get this corrected, I can provide a staging site and so forth but I need you to communicate with me.

Sorry about the wait! We’ve been seeing a lot of support tickets recently. Though we try to come over here to the free forums as much as we can, we have to help paying customers first.

With the error on wp-hooks.php, can you share the contents of your functions.php file?

Have you made any customizations in functions.php?

    Take care,
    Ed ??

What is the best way to share that file? Do I just paste in what I have in this editor? Is there a place I can email it to your or some such? Please advise. Thank you.
