einsiol: Do you have an ad blocker installed? Others have reported that an ad blocker blocks some of the advertising manager editor code.

Your right, it’s the adblocker that is causing this issue. I would recommend you add a option to disclude functions from being added to the Visual Editor, in my case there is no need for it ?? If you would like help with it I would be happy to help out if you host your plugin in a git repository.

einsiol: Thanks – this is a problem with the plugin URL being “advertising-manager” – Working on this one now. WordPress has svn plugin repo – I tried to mirror to github – will try again and let you know where it is. Cheers.

Quick question. In this thread (#8) from 6 months ago, you said this:

“Seems like the term ‘advertising-manager’ is being blocked by ad blockers! I will look into the ramifications of changing this part of the URL to ‘advman’.”

Sounds exactly like what you are saying here now. So you still haven’t done it. I mean you didn’t run that test or change the URLs from advertising-manager to something else yet? I understand that people get busy, but you’ve known this for 6 months now. And you didn’t even put a warning about the issue in the description. I think that would have been a little effort for you to do to save people the frustration of losing their visual editor and then having to figure out what caused it and how to fix it.

I recommended before that you add an option to disable the plug-in to be associated with the visual editor. I would recommend instead to disable it by default from the visual editor and add a option to enable it.

While you are working on this I would recommend to remove the feature all together and push out a new version ASAP. Until then it has to marked as broken for anybody using ad-blockers.

This plug-in can be useful, but I can’t enable it on client project knowing it can break their installation.
