I don’t mind it if you change the default for WP but why do you break existing page builders? This makes 0 business sense… if this doesn’t get resolved soon, I will likely go back to using Joomla. I am very disappointed with this; it feels to me like WP is taking lessons from M$ by forcing things on their users.

  • If the issue is you are getting the new block editor (Gutenberg) loading where the old editor was in the back end, make sure you have the latest version of Divi installed. Then go to Divi > Theme Options > Builder > Advanced tab and enable the option for Classic editor. This will prevent the block editor from loading and you should have older editor with Divi presented.

@manzwebdesigns, you might also look into the Disable Gutenberg plugin by Jeff Starr. It has many helpful features, and does not expire in 2022 like the Classic Editor plugin does. I hope this is helpful for you.

@irishetcher, thank you for that response! I didn’t see that option when I looked before… still it is annoying because I have 20+ sites that are running Divi and I have to go and fix that on each one. :/

    Thanks,
    Bud

and does not expire in 2022 like the Classic Editor plugin does

The Classic Editor has supported committed by the WordPress project until 2022 – it may continue longer.

Disable Gutenberg will have support by Jeff Starr & others while ever someone chooses to maintain it.

The same scenario applies also to the Classic Editor after official support ends – they’re both open-source.
