Breaks WP search when used together with “The Events Calendar”

When I use “WP Publications Archive” together with “The Events Calendar,” the WordPress search stops working, that is, it no longer returns any results (though it does not give any error messages).

After some testing I found out that the search works fine unless I activate “WP Publications Archive” and “The Events Calendar,” any ideas? I cannot easily replace either plugin.
