    Hi,

We need to display a notice at checkout to let customers in Mainland UK (only) know that tax will be collected by the courier.

We also need to display a note at checkout to let Northern Irish (only) customers know that there will be no change, they will taxed as EU @ Irish rates.

Is there a way to do this, a plugin you can recommend maybe?

    David

  • Hello,

I don’t know of a plugin that does the job, but you can use a snippet to display a message based on the country selected. Here is an article you might find helpful: https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-show-message-after-state-selection-checkout/

I would recommend using a plugin like?Code Snippets?to add that snippet to your site.

    I hope this helps.

thanks Maykato, I’ve tried this but unfortunately it didn’t work. It turned the form blue, then when the UK was selected the whole form disappeared ??

    Hello,

Are you using a plugin to use the snippet? The code works properly when I try on my test site. You can also check if other plugins are conflicting by temporarily switching your theme to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.
If it still doesn’t work properly, we recommend getting in touch with a web developer or one of our experts to have it customized for you.

    hi Maykato,
I’m using the functions file, I’m still trying. I’ve changed the text to brexit and the “var countryCode = ‘GB’;”. The message doesn’t appear anywhere on the page when I change the country to United Kingdom.

I’ve also tried changing the hook, it doesn’t appear anywhere. I’ll keep trying.

Hi, I hope the code has worked. If you are still unable to get it work, you’d need to have a web developer take a look. I’m marking this thread as resolved. If you have any other questions, please open a new topic.
