• Fantastic plugin! I created a minimal theme cutting out all the usual crud that WordPress adds. Put WordPress in a directory only accessible from my IP (PS. it needs to be accessible to itself also for the plugin to work) and save all the static files to the web root. So I have a secure URL where I can develop the site and I can deploy instantly (well as instantly as it can chug through all the static file creation, but hey, what’s the rush?!) And with a little css and image compression I get a website with between 90-100/100 on Google’s page speed checker. And just ad tiny php scripts for contact and subscribers.

I love this plugin, if you do it right, you get the ease of use of WordPress as a blogging platform combined with a superfast website for your users.

How can I give you some money?!

P.S. I think you need to add a trim function for the Settings > Advanced > Additional URLs as I inadvertantly had spaces at the end of some of mine and they wouldn’t copy until I removed them.

  • Thank you for the review, onsitenow! I’m glad to hear it has worked so well for you.

We will be offering a premium version of the plugin in the future. For now though, just knowing that you’re enjoying Simply Static is thanks enough ??

    Best,
    Scott

P.S. For the next version I’ll take a look into adding a trim on those fields that you mentioned.

FYI: v2.0 of Simply Static now trims the values for Additional URLs ??
