Brilliant! (With two small suggestions)
-
I’m building a complicated site. There’s a blog, a bbPress forum, a BuddyPress community, and a Q&A plugin (CM Answers Pro). All of these are large plugins and they take time to load. But not all of them have to load on every page. For example, if you’re in the bbPress section of the site; you don’t need BuddyPress and CM Answers.
I’ve worked hard at trimming the CSS and cutting out unnecessary scripts, but the real problem is the plugins. I’ve agonized over whether I should drop one or more of these plugins before I launch, because each one comes with a big performance hit.
But now I can have my cake and eat it, too. Plugin Organizer makes my complicated site feel quick and responsive, even on shared hosting. I can’t praise it enough.
(I know, I know… I sound like I’m selling laundry detergent on TV, but the difference is really that amazing.)
I have only two small suggestions:
- More detailed documentation — It’s not immediately obvious how the filters are supposed to work (although once you get the hang of it, they’re quite intuitive). There is a documentation page, but it’s fairly brief.
- The admin page “puzzle” icon — Does it have to be colored? I know it’s pretty, but all of my other plugins are happy to be monochrome.
Great contribution, overall!
