Hi, I just want to make sure this plugin will do what we need it to before I suggest to the business unit that they buy this plugin.

Among the sites on our multisite, we have two blogs where posts are currently copied from one blog to another. There are a few things which need to be modified in the blog to which the posts are copied. For example, links. We have a robots meta tag to request noindex, nofollow to prevent duplicated content messing with our SEO.

It looks like we’ll need to use the User & Settings plugin in the premium pack to do this. If we use this, will we be able to specify that only posts from site A are cross posted to site B? Will we be able to choose on an individual level whether a particular post is cross posted? Will we be able to modify the copied post without effecting the original post?

    Thank you for your help!

Let me see if I can answer all of your questions.

    1. Yes, you will be able to specify that posts from A should be “modified” to be posted to B. The modification here is what is selected in the broadcast meta box.

    2. This can not be done on a per-post level, yet. The modification can suggest that the Blog B select box gets checked, and yet leave it free so that the user can unselect it if it wants to.

    3. How are you planning on modifying the copied post? Modifications to the post during broadcast usually requires a plugin to automatically modify the post content after broadcast.

Thank you for your quick reply. 1 and 2 sounds good. To answer your question regarding 3, we were planning on the editors going into the post on Blog B to manually make whatever changes are necessary.

Aha. Manual changes to a child post are no problem.

I believe this resolves the thread. ??
