• Hi,
I have been using your renamer plugin for a month now and have not encountered this problem until yesterday. I am not sure if this is related, but the plugin updated around that time too.

Basically, when I renamed my image files in bulk yesterday, suddenly all the images on my web site are now broken. Again, this has never happened before and it is a big problem since it’s an ecommerce site with hundreds of products.
    Please help!

    Hi,

The latest update cannot break anything, it just added a new option (renaming on upload) but it’s off by default.

Bulk renaming is dangerous, because of course that affects your whole install. Before doing that, I hope you did a backup, you didn’t?

Can you enable the Undo in the option and see if that helps? But you need to Undo individually…

    Hi,

Thank you very much for the response.
    Fortunately, I did a backup.

I did an experiment and uploaded and renamed one image in the library page, and that one broke as well – specifically the images used in the product variations. It appears that this may have something to do with me using the Yith Color and Label Variations plugin in that while the Media File Renamer does rename the file, it does not rename the the link to the file in the attributes menu.

You can see here that the image url still uses an older filename:

When the Media File Renamer already changed it to this:

I understand that this problem involves another third party plugin, though I wish there is a way around it.
