Glad it’s working for others! Unfortunately, this plugin broke my site. It edited my .htaccess with an AddHandler rule to instruct which PHP version is used for the application. Caused all pages, including wp-admin to ask to download a file.

It didn’t break my site right at first, though. I was struggling with the display options, as none of the shortcode fields were working for my site at all. Tried displaying only certain posts based on tags, etc. Tried all options and none of the filters were working. So… all in all a fail X) Sucks for my site!

    Hi @cheibty

I have gone through your message and it looks like you have some misunderstanding.

WP Responsive Recent Post Slider is quite simple and created with WordPress shortcodes and widgets. It does not have any relation with .htaccess and plugin does not have any code of it.

There may be other plugin or your hosting which can cause this problem of .htaccess Plugin is not interfering .htaccess in any of the way.

    For your query,

    1) As none of the shortcode fields were working for my site at all…
Ans – As plugin is created with shortcode so you just need to pass shortcode parameter with relevant shortcode e.g. [recent_post_slider limit=”8″]

Sometime what happen when we copy the shortcode and paste it into the WordPress editor then double quote (“) are converted to special character and break the shortcode.

So please remove the shortcode double quote and add them manually again. I hope it will work for you.

Hi there! It must be a coincidence, because twice I activated this plugin, and the site immediately broke :/

And I did happen to notice the special character quotes when I was trying to troubleshoot, but even using the correct double quotes did not work.

No worries – thanks for trying. Just figured I would report this just in case it’s useful for debugging on your end.

    Hi @cheibty ,

    Thank you for your response…

We have to check it directly in you website, because plugin is not having this kind of issue in demo as well as to my local server.

You can share screenshot of your admin side where you have shortcode or getting any error in your console log.

Please check and let me know if anything.

    Thank You!!
