• Today this plugin auto-updated itself, and ruined over 10+ of my websites, and I lost one client who said I wasn’t professional because my MAIN website that represents me as a website developer … was BROKEN.

This was totally unprofessional. I don’t want WP-SuperCache to auto-update itself. I want to be able to choose when to update it. I can never trust this plugin for caching again. This has happened numerous times, and I am DONE with it.

For a truly professional caching combination, I recommend W3 TOTAL CACHE:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/w3-total-cache/

in combination with Cloudflare (free with HostGator). This is the worldwide redunancy CDN that Amazon and Apple use, among other huge companies.

Hey, you’re very welcome Lisa. I’ve had it happen to me many times with this (blank)-ing plugin.

@evanevans333 the latest version should have fixed this issue.

    Regards

I doubt it. I think you misunderstand what the issue is. You’re saying that WP-SuperCache will no longer ever again break websites automatically? I don’t think you can make such a bold claim. You’re probably referring to, that you fixed the secondary problem. The primary problem is, any of us can wake up one morning, to all of our websites permanently down. Until you can fix that, than the problem has not been fixed.

Don’t auto-update the plugin. Let us know there is a version update, and let us manually update to it. Make that the default behavior, so you don’t have a world of users running to support crying that their website’s are down. Than the problem will be fixed.

Only crazy people will use W3 Total Cache, as suggested by the reviewer.

If WP Super Cache doesn’t work for you, use ZenCache (Quick Cache) or Hyper Cache.
