Broke the site

  • wanted to use it for backing up. Installed, activated, startet a database backup only. From then on the site was semi-broken i.e. some of the links no longer worked (lead to 404 etc.). At first did not link this to this plugin, but since this was the only thing I “changed”… deactivated it and -puff- everything working normal. Not sure what the issue was but no longer care… deleted

    Hi @peter-lipp, thank you for reporting this, however our plugin doesn’t break sites like that (and your exclusion logic “I did nothing else, so it must have been the plugin” is a bit shaky). In general, if you face issues, could you please first report them in the forum, so that we can help you to debug? It’s free.

    Now what do you think if everything works, you install this plugin, and something is suddenly completely broken, I remove the plugin and everything works again? Sorry, but I can’t invest my time to find out whether indeed something else was the culprit, when uninstalling solves my problem (I honestly would be curious enough to find out more about the issue, but since I need the site to be working and have other more important things to do…)

    @peter-lipp It’s fair if you don’t want to dive deeper due to limited time. However, you cannot maintain your claim that it’s an issue with the plugin and give it a 1-star review. You have two options: a) you withdraw your claim that the plugin is at fault and adjust/remove your rating, or b) you continue to claim it’s the plugin, and we get to the bottom of things to see if it’s actually the plugin. These are the rules of fairness. We’re fine with either option. Which do you prefer?
