Hi. I’ve read your FAQ “Everything broken after moving site”. When I moved my site from local host to the actual server, I could see my custom posts, but cannot edit them nor can go to Custom Fields or Global Settings.
I found your FAQ that appears to fix this issue, but the new uploaded definitions are not activating.
I did export from the site I was moving. Then I imported it once the site was moved. After importing the backup file, I see it in the “Definitions on File” Preview panel, un-checked. Checking it does not change anything. So, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks much for you help on this.

Oh, and to clarify, When I do check the definition file I want to activate and am in Preview, I see the Activation button. Even when it’s pressed (I then notice a uploaded successfully message) nothing changes.

    Thanks again,

After Googling the above issue, I came across this old Forum thread. Your instructions, though a little detailed, didn’t work for me until I cleared my cache on the new site, before importing the file again. So, for those who may be reading this, visit the above link for details. Here’s the short version:

On the original site, go to the Tools tab of the CCTM and clear the cache.
    2. Go to the CCTM’s Tool’s menu and Export the definition.
    3. Migrate your WordPress files and database as per usual.
    4. On the new site, revisit the CCTM’s Tool tab and Import the CCTM .json definition file created on step 1. (Without directory scans being cached, then PHP should rescan your directories and re-calculate the paths to your various files.) IF THIS DOES NOT WORK (you still can’t edit your custom post or view any Custom Fields or Global Settings), then…
    5. Clear the cache on the new site and then import the .json file again. Be sure that after the file is uploaded, that you check the box next to the Definition you want (Import > Manage Library), click “Preview” and then click “Activate.”
