broken business model

  • This a review of the Free version of SliceWP.

    The affiliate seems great, stock email templates are very bare, and the default web pages created. It needs a LOT of work to be great out the box.

    My main problem is that the free version of the plugin works for very limited business models. You can choose between a fixed affiliate comm for every product or sale, or a flat global commission. Cannot set a comm value per product in free version.

    I have to uninstall as my affiliates can only earn comm on 2 products and on nothing else. I cant afford to pay same comm for a 10 dollar product as a 2000 dollar product. So I have to deactivate comm on almost all our products.

    Our affiliates will NOT support our company this way. The only way to set a value comm for every product separately is to pay the very expensive paid pro version. We are a small start-up in a 3rd world country, no way can afford that. So as much as we would like to use slice, It is BROKEN for us. We cannot pay our affiliates the same comm for all products. Nor can we fix a percentage on all products.

    Sadly, we have to disqualify SliceWP. Useless to us as a start-up e-shop, certainly wont help us grow an affiliate base. There are free options to try and upgrade as we grow. We cant grow with SLICE, sorry.

    Before anything else, I’m really sorry that you’ve had a subpar experience with SliceWP!

    Our intention is to provide great tools for all businesses, from the smallest to the biggest. Even so, we know that we cannot make everyone happy.

    We also know that we have more to grow and we’re constantly looking to improve the plugin and also our services.

    From what I see, you haven’t contacted us prior to this review, which is a shame, as we would have done our best to help you out.

    As far as our pricing goes, SliceWP is neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive affiliate plugin for WordPress. We’re somewhere in between and we believe that we’re fairly priced for the benefits that we offer. We include each and every feature that we have in a single paid plan. No upsells or cross sells or other promotional tricks.

    Additionally, compared to other plugins in the field, we offer a free version that is more than capable of running an affiliate program for most businesses. Not that many companies do this.

    And finally, we offer customer support for all of our users, free and paid, which again not many companies do.

    Now, I understand the cost of our product is higher than what you can or are willing to pay. But, at the same time, offering all of the benefits that we offer is costly and without charging for these benefits we would not be able to provide the product and the services that we provide.

    As a small business owner to another small business owner, I hope that you can understand this.
