I understand that Rank Math has an if statement that if the Custom Description is not empty it uses it instead of the pre-made template on Title & Meta settings.

My Scenario: I have a product category (woo) that I made a custom template for all product categories and it uses %snippets% to have dynamic data.
But I also want to have a custom header on the category page but I don’t want it to be used as Meta description. And there is no way to override it even with custom Snippet.

Update: testing on google search console. It uses the custom meta description (on Snippet editor). But Rank Math Editor is showing the Description content which is confusing.

    Hello @stagezero

    Thank you for your message.

From what we understood, you want to use custom description on WooCommerce Product Category pages instead of the description generated by Rank Math.

My Scenario: I have a product category (woo) that I made a custom template for all product categories and it uses %snippets% to have dynamic data.

Not sure what %snippets% is here. If it’s a variable which you have created using Rank Math Replacement variable filter then you can add this variable in the Titles & Meta >> Product Category >> Description field.

The other way to change the description is by using the following filter:

Please let us know if this helps.
