• Hello, I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post this BUT here is what is going on…

Basically I’ve been helping my business partner with his website we are running wordpress as we’ve seen it’s a good script..

So we were supposed to launch TODAY at 6PM EST everything was working on the website ect, for editing we had the website on a temp directory https://www.website.com/site everything was fine, I went in to the admin to settings changed the URL settings from website.com/site to website.com and from there I went in to cPanel and moved everything in the /site folder to /public_html ( how I normally move from a temp to the official )

So I did this and everything was all wacky and giving me a fatal error so we decided to move it back to /site because we were pressed for time thinking everything would go back to normal.. well after moving it back and changing the site URL in wordpress every image we uploaded is now showing a broken image some images when we click it will open the shadow box and display but thumbnail is broken, other images just say it’s not there…

any idea on what went wrong an how we could fix this?

  • – move the site back to the root
    – in cPanel, open phpMyAdmin
    – select the database (left pane)
    – select the wp_options table (left pane – note: ‘wp_’ may be different if you changed the table prefix during the install)
    – edit the siteurl and home fields to https://www.website.com
    – log in to the Admin Dashboard and install and run this plugin:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/velvet-blues-update-urls/

    Note: Values should be:
    – Old Site: https://www.website.com/site
    – New Site: https://www.website.com
    – select all the other options EXCEPT the last one (GUIDs)

The above will get your images “back” ??
