Broken Link Checker doesn’t finish checking the links

Hi,

I have an old blog (10 years) and I decided to use the plugin to check for broken links. I didn’t do that in the past and I had a brief period when Akismet had issues, therefore also some spam links.

I installed the plugin and started to check the links. I unlinked all broken links (I’ll remove them completely from the site after that). But, the plugin stops at 15414 URLs in the work queue
Detected 18665 unique URLs in 34346 links and still searching…

I used force recheck (different day) – same result. Along the way, I unlinked around 2k broken links + warnings, so it did work, but didn’t finish the job.

As a side note: I removed the limit for the server load (though it was always under 3) and I left the laptop on through the night – so that it could run in the background.

After that, I tried to check broken links in one category – Comments first – but it also stopped – this is the message:
No broken links found.
7073 URLs in the work queue
Detected 7163 unique URLs in 20521 links.

What can I do to make the plugin go through all the links? I can choose one category at first (Blogroll/posts/comments), but even like this it’s not completing the job. It’s a great plugin – and I’d like to know if it can find all the broken links on my site.
