• Hi,
I’ve updated to v. 3.2 on WordPress 4.7 today & none of my links (or linked images) are now working – the update seems to be inserting additional backslashes (after I’ve created the correct code) breaking the link – I have tried to post an example of the broken code, but it gets corrected each time!!

The screenshot below shows how the link renders:

Please advise on how to rectify.

  • Yeppers, same problem with me.

It does not matter the URL syntax, either “https://domain-name.com” or “/” to return to root directory (“/” used when WordPress is installed in a sub-directory from the main domain root), or any other URL configuration, relative or absolute or root-relative, I get extra slashes and %(numbers) added as well.

    Here is my example:
    https://(domain-name)/%22https://(domain-name)/%22

I used a another maintenance plugin and used an absolute URL “https://formwebdesign.ca/” and all worked fine, the link took me back to the main root domain.

This says something is wrong with Maintenance plugin, it changes the URLS of linked text in the maintenance page document.

Exactly the same as mine. I’m also getting a backslash inserted before apostrophes – if I use ASCII it works until I switch between views, at which point it reverts.

I rolled back to the previous version last night but this is the second time I’ve updated & errors have occurred – the last time it pulled meta data onto the page.

There seems to be an issue when bug fixes are made – the new versions don’t seem to be being tested thoroughly before a version release is issued. It’s a shame as it is a useful plugin, but will have to look for an alternative if this keeps happening.

    Hello.

Thank you for using our plugin.

Our developers solved issue with links. New release will be available soon. In order not to wait for the update, please use the latest developers version from GitHub:

    https://github.com/Fruitfulcode/Maintenance

You should replace your data directory to data from the archive. Don’t forget to unzip it. If you didn’t change anything in the source files then your configuration will be not lost.

    Regards.

Thank you – I’ve sorted it out now. Much appreciated.

Vicky_h, if you sorted it out, what did you do?

Hi @mwarbinek – I followed the instructions from @fruitfulcode (see above) & it worked fine. I had rolled back to v.3.1.1 but then when I activated the ContactForm7 plugin, it caused a fatal error so I had no choice!

Just download the latest version from Github, unzip & copy all the content into your Maintenance plugin folder via FTP.

Much appreciated for the reply. I could not know whether you did something totally different or did what they offered. ~ Thanks

I may just wait for the update, it is not a crucial thing, at least in my case.
