    Hello,

I have a site that is using your plugin for events and lately we’ve realized that the pagination was not working correctly(especially with the Elementor integration), it was showing 404 on page 2+, and I’ve tried to debug the issue and couldn’t find anything wrong with the query but looking closer at the URL created for the pagination I’ve spotted that it’s translated into Romanian, even using accents page(English) = pagin? (Romanian). Changing the link to /page/2/ instead of /pagin?/2/ fixed the issue with the pagination so I’ve used Loco Translate to modify the translation provided by your plugin.

Can you please look in the translations file and change this Context:?The “/page/” URL string component. to not actually translate it or if it’s “translated” to be set to “page” instead ? (don’t know if it happens in other languages).

    Thank you.

    Hi @dcgavril ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Just to clarify, are you saying that after modifying the translations in Loco Translate for the page text string (from pagin? to page), the pagination is now working on your site?

Yes, you have added the url slug for the pagination in the translation and I believe that who did the translation didn’t understood the context of that entry, especially to not use characters with accents. But maybe there’s also an issue withing the code were you are managing the way pagination works and if it takes into account the translated string or it expects by default the /page/”value” Prior to changing the translation I’ve tried to save again the permalinks but it didn’t change anything, once I’ve changed the translation it worked instantly.

I Let me know when you need any other details.

    Hi @dcgavril ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce the issue in my testing environment running only The Events Calendar plugins and the twenty-twenty-one theme (see https://profuse-goldfinch-9f8229.instawp.xyz/events/lista/pagin%C4%83/2/). In that regard, I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

    Sorry for the late reply.

I have also installed a new WP instance and tested out, and it seems that a vanilla install with the basic theme works, so yes, most likely an incompatibility with another plugin or the theme, as I have changed the theme to even Hello Elementor + Elementor Pro to be able to override the design of the category page (archive) and it’s either not able to override it or the pagination is just not working.

Anyway, unfortunately I don’t have too much time to investigate why this happens and fortunately changing the translation is fixing the issue.

Thank you again for your help.
