    Hi,

It seems anytime I update the Yoast plugin it seems to break the Advanced Custom Fields plugin – the permalinks stop working so I have to reset them after any update to Yoast.

Are there any known bugs / conflicts between the two plugins which could be causing the issue?

    Thanks,
    Laura

  • Sometimes strange behavior may be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. The fastest way to rule out conflicts is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Sixteen. If this resolves the issue, you have a conflict and should activate one plugin at a time until you locate the conflict. Finally, after all plugins are active, switch to your theme. This will narrow down the conflict to a specific plugin or theme.

If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we wrote a small guide that will walk you through the steps. You can find it here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts

My ACF Pro setup is working fine with Yoast SEO 5.01 so far, no issues with permalinks.

    Try

    a) clear transients with wp-optimize plugin or similar
    b) resave permalinks
    c) check Yoast SEO settings for anything not used, and disable; dismiss any messages about blah blah on Yoast admin screen.

Might or might not help. Has helped me with gremlins in past after YSEO or WP core updates. ??

We are glad the problem is resolved with the latest version of Yoast SEO. If the problem reappears, please let us know.

    Hi,

I carried out a Yoast update today and the permalinks are once again not working. Before this update the site was behaving as expected.

Is there something in the most recent update of Yoast that has seemingly broken something I thought was fixed.

    Thanks,
    Laura
