Broken Podcast Feeds and Links

    We have been using Seriously Simple Podcasting for several years now. We host our episodes ourselves and only use one (default) podcast in which all episodes are displayed in the backend.

    Recently, the links to the episodes and the feed only show 404 pages. The content and pages are all available in the backend. You can’t access the podcast via our website or via the rss feed. Nothing was changed in the settings. SSP runs on the current version 3.2.0. What could be the reason?

    Hello again. I solved the problem by downgrading to version 3.1.1 with the plugin “WP Rollback – Rollback Plugins and Themes”.

    The problem seems to exist in the current version 3.2.0

    Hi @maaus81,

    That’s interesting, because I don’t see any code change that could cause the 404 issue with upgrading from 3.1.1 to 3.2.0. Could it be that you downgraded and updated permalinks? Usually, updating permalinks fixes the 404 issues.

    Also, can I ask you to upgrade to 3.2.0 once again, and confirm that updating from 3.1.1 to 3.2.0 leads to the 404 issue? And if you can see the 404 issue again, try to update permalinks ( go to Settings -> Permalinks, and click Save Settings buttons )?

    Hi,
    I updated again and this time it works.
    I don’t know what was going wrong the first time. I just recognised the error because youtube mailed me not to find the rss anymore.
    Now it is all fine again at newest version 3.2.

    And no, I didn’t change something at the permalinks or anything else.
