I really did not want to post this but I have drove myself half mad trying to fix this on my own for most of the day. I was in another tab when virtue broke and my website went completely white. I don’t even know how it happened – I never touch the theme editor files.

I have followed the instructions on every support topic and tutorial I could find on removing a broken theme including going through FTP and cPanel File Manager. Within the dashboard virtue no longer shows up on the list of installed themes but at the bottom it says stylesheet is missing.

I keep on pressing delete and it keeps coming back. Through FTP and File Manager I keep deleting the virtue theme and it also keeps showing up when I refresh it. Is there any way for me to upload the missing stylesheet files? I am unable to upgrade to premium at this time so I do not have the theme zip.

  • Ok, first. you should call your hosting server. They can help you if your having trouble removing something.

Second the zip file can be downloaded here at any time: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/virtue

Just click the red/orange download button.

As for your white screen, If you weren’t doing anything on the site like updating plugins or editing files then you would want to talk with your server. Themes don’t have timers that just break your site at random. something had to have changed. if your using cloudflare it could have been a delayed change, like an update or an edit.

I did not know contacting my host would help in this case considering my site is still live. I will ask them if they can remove it. I am very sorry for my lack of knowledge in this area – learning everything to do with building and maintaining a website has not been easy for me to learn. I find your comment about timers rather insulting – it just seems a little harsh. I know themes do not break at random. I only mentioned that I was not adding plugins or editing anything at the time so it could be ruled out of a reply. I always strive to give any information I can on the situation in case it happens to be relevant to the solution. I will not bother you with my questions any longer.

My comment wasn’t intended to be insulting. I was only trying to clarify that an issue that happens at random would be one that is stemmed from the server. My apologies.
