Broken thumbnails in tiled galleries

The thumbnails being rendered and served from wp.com aren’t reliably coming through for some reason.

But for which reason?

For example on this page are the thumbnails ok:

It is a separate installation of wordpress.

Jetpack’s Tiled Galleries use the Photon service to download your images and resize them on the fly, thus creating the tiled effect.

Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to access your images directly on your site. When I try to load an image, I get a 404 error:

The Photon service runs into the same problem when trying to download your images.

Do you use an image hotlinking protection service, or anything that may restrict access to your images? If so, could you try to deactivate that service or allow access when using the Photon/1.0 User Agent?

Once the images can be accessed, you should be all set!
