I m having a very strange problem on hand. When I log onto the word press admin console, I get the following:

    https://postimg.org/image/samp6dv6f/

When I click on any link on that screen, I get a file not found error, but the file shown on the address bar does exist and it is readable to the public. I tried to install wordpress on another directory and attempt to access the admin console – same file not found error. The wordpress site itself seems to be functional, but not able to access the admin console means i can not make new blog posts. Any ideas what is wrong and how to fix it?

Is your site hosted on Crazy Domains, by chance?

Not hosted on crazy domains. I am using a small hosting company that I have been on for the past 3-4 years without any major issues.

Have you tried deactivating your plugins and switching to the default theme to see if any are causing those problems?

    Also try resetting your permalinks.

Thank you, so much. I honestly thought it was something I had done, even though it is the first time I have logged in this week.

Is this a typical occurrence with all web hosts, or would I be better going to another host?

How do I deactivate plugins and/or change theme when I can not even access the admin page?

Using FTP or Cpanel, rename the plugins folder:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

I renamed the plugins folder but it didnt seem to help. I am still seeing the same screen when I try to go to admin console.

Another thing is I installed another wordpress on a different folder, and was unable to access to admin console on the 2nd installation (<site>/<wordpress2>/wp-admin) – will just say file not found. But the file (index.php) does exist.

Have you asked your hosting company?

I have, but they have not respond back. I am trying to see if there is anything I can do on my end. Anything else i should check?
