Brought site to a crawl

  • The change log said nothing about this, but they added a popup to the admin to ask for reviews. The problem is the popup first searches the entire database for how many times blocks from this plugin are used. That search is nonperformant and brought the site down. This isn’t the first time this plugin has had a performance issue like this. The plugin is not suitable for large sites or those expecting code to be throughly tested before being released.

    This plugin potentially caused my Namecheap shared hosting suspension, due to large database queries. Still investigating.

    Might NOT have been this extension after all. Might be a combination of bots and crawlers and Advanced Post Block plugin, plus some other things. My apologies. Still, this extension is a bit aggressive at times.
