• Greetings,

I am looking for a way to create a standalone, browseable copy of my blog. Something which can be saved for later browsing offline – pontentailly in 10 years ??

I do backups of my blog – so this is not the way I want to go to. I would like to get a version independent of my server. Say, something to show my now-2-years son in 15 years ??

Has anyone done something along these lines? Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Wojtek

  • I suppose you could use a content grabber, nasty as they are, sounds like it would suit your needs.

They basically trawl a website, downloading everyting so you can browse offline later on. They’re disliked because this uses up loads of bandwidth when the person might only look at maybe two pages and then deleted everything, but in your case it sounds like what you’re looking for.

I thought about that too but I am affraid that wordpress being php-based, the content grabbers like Teleport or httrack can have issues. I will try tonight when back at home.

    Thanks!

Content grabbers don’t care what renders the HTML — they just care about what is rendered. It’ll be fine.
