Browsecap removing everyone

    Something very similar (or exactly the same) happend back on Oct. 26. Either early this morning or late last night WP-Stat’s stopped recording any hits or search engine referrals. I had Browscap activated and as soon as I deactivated it WP-Stat’s started recording the traffic to my site again.

    I run Wordfence along with WP-stat’s on a number of sites I and I have started to notice that Browscap does a lousy job of recording only Human hits and visitors when Browscap is turned on so I am wondering if that feature has any value at all or simply stuffs up the statistics from time to time.

    It looks like there may have been a bad release of the browscap.ini files, try forcing it to update again.

    You can of course turn the feature off, I think it still adds value, but I’m not 100% convinced of it at this point either.

    Release 8.3 has added additional sanity checks after downloading a new browscap.ini to avoid corrupt/incorrect ini files, closing thread.
