Browser Page Goes Blank While Updating Website

    I was in the middle of working on my website on my desktop PC (logged in to my WordPress account) when suddenly the browser page went blank. Nothing. Each time I try to log in I get nothing but a ridiculous url and a blank page. Even my website domain shows up as a blank page, however my website does show up on my mobile devices and seems to be running just fine. The browser (Google Chrome) works fine otherwise, allows me to visit and use other websites, etc.

    I’m fairly new to web design but this is quite baffling to me. It doesn’t appear to be browser problem. Anyone have a as to what could have happened?

    not working at all, not even admin page loads.

    follow these steps and set wp_debug to true in wp-config.php file

    I was installing Google Fonts.

    I have the functions php sheet open and clicked “update”.

    I use the Genesis Framework and was installing Google Fonts in the way in which they described, which was to paste a code into the functions php sheet and not through the style css sheet.

    When I clicked “update” everything went blank and hasn’t worked since.

    Btw, I was installing the code for Google Fonts given to me by the Studio Press website as the best way to install it into a WordPress site which was designed with the Genesis Framework.

    that triggered a error and brought whole website down.

    what you can do is login to your ftp manager or cpanel file manager and rename active theme folder in wp-admin / themes folder. that will disable active theme,then website will revert to default theme and website will be live.

    you can choose to reupload the genesis again or try undoing the code you pasted in function.php file

    yes it is that simple but wastes lot of time when we face it first time, also brings whole website down(little error in functions.php file)

    So if I’m using the “Agency” theme, I simply rename the theme folder to something else?

    yes rename it Agency.HOLD or something and reload homepage, to check if it is back.

    Would all of this also cause the WordPress login page to disappear as well? I can’t even log in to my dashboard.

    i think genesis has a sperate folder, rename it too

    Okay. Did that. Still nothing I’m afraid.

    do you have twenty fifteen or some similar folder in theme folder?
    if not please download and upload there, because to this theme website will revert back to.
