• Hi all,

    Twentyeleven
    Twentyeleven-child

    My websites;
    food.satimis.com
    drinks.satimis.com
    satimis.com
    etc.

    can be browsed on Desktop PC without problem. They are displayed correctly on computer display. But I found it difficult browsing them on Safari, the lightweight browser, running on IPhone3S. I’m subscribing 3G. Only part of the window frame can be displayed.

    Please advise is there any solution? Thanks

    It appears to be an issue with the child theme, however you should check that is the case by temporarily switching to twenty-eleven on one of the sites.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I think it may not be the problem of child theme. Because of some of the websites are without child theme installed.

    Safari is a light weight browser. It finds difficulty displaying sizeable graphic files. But how to find a meeting line allowing the website to be browsed on Safari as well as on Desktop PC browser without scarifying the quality of the web-page? It is a headache.

    If you are sure of that, then you have established that it is not caused by a child theme common to all sites.

    The next thing to check is whether there might be a plugin causing the issue, and if so, which plugin. Deactivate all plugins on one of the affected sites. If the display on iPhone is OK, activate the plugins one-by-one until the problem reappears at which point you will have an indication of which plugin you need to further troubleshoot.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your further advice.

    I would work the other way round performing following steps;

    1. add a subdomain for this test (I’m subscribing the Deleux plan of Godaddy)
    2) install WordPress with Twentyeleven as default template and with menu created as well
    3) browse the website on IPhone 3S to check what will happen.
    4) then add graphic files, data and check again
    5) add plugin and check again etc.

    All websites are running same template and plugins

    Hi all,

    Performed following test;

    1) add subdomain piano-03.satimis.com
    2) install WP 3.5.2 with twentyeleleven theme activated
    3) add menu and pages. Create child theme
    4) add Cimy Header Image Rotator plugin
    5) activate child theme
    so far so good. Website can be displayed correctly on IPhone3S

    6) add header images (4 images)(size 1000 x 288 px)

    Website still can be displayed correctly on IPhone3S with rotating header images. But the white space between header-images and menu-bar becomes very large with its height almost same as the white head-top,

    Any advice how to fix it? Thanks

    If you remove the cimy plugin does the display issue still occur? If not, this would seem to indicate a problem with the cimy header rotate plugin, so I would suggest you post on the forum for that plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/cimy-header-image-rotator in the hope that either the author or a fellow user of the plugin might be able to help.

    After deactivating Cimy Header Image Rotator all images are gone. But justifying on the white space left behind it seems the problem still there.

    Another strange thing discovered is;
    piano-02.satimis.com don’t have this problem.

    Theme and plugin are the same. What I found is the height of the images is increased automatically covering the white space mentioned.

    How can it happen?

    Also there is no problem on hymn.satimis.com
    The height of images is increased automatically.

    But there is same problem on; bible.satimis.com

    I can’t resolve?

    So you’ve established that it does not appear to caused by cimy header roatator? Furthermore, on two sites with the same theme, the problem occurs on one, but not the other? What differences are there betwen those two sites? Are the themes identical or has one been customised?

    If you deactivate all plugins on the affected site does it have the problem? If not activate the plugins one by one to find out whether one particular plugin causes it.

    I doubt whether it would be the problem of header images. All images added have been edited to size 1000×288 px. Also I have tried using several header images of piano-02.satimis.com on piano-03.satimis.com. Problem still remains, the white bar between header image and menu increased more than double in height when being browsed on IPhone.

    > If you deactivate all plugins on the

    I have only one plugin added on all sites, Cimy Header Image Rotator.

    What I discovered is;
    Those websites browsed on IPhone3S without the white bar mentioned being doubled in height, the images height is doubled seemingly taking up the increased white space.

    On child header.php:

    <style type="text/css">
        #cimy_div_id_0 {
    		float: left;
    		margin: 1em auto;
    		border: 0px solid #000000;
    		width: 100%;
    		height: 288px;
    	}

    change 288px to 100%

    It can’t work, no header image displayed
