Hello I installed and setup the plugin, changed the wp-admin url to something different but still getting attacked. All attacks are trying to use admin as username so they fail but I am not understanding how the attacks keep happening even after the login url change. I’m guessing its some sort of botnet as I have locked 2000+ IPs in the last 24hrs. Every attempt is now coming from a different IP.

Hi, check to see if you have the following enabled. Go to WP Security -> Firewall -> Basic Firewall Rules, locate the following Enable Pingback Protection:.

thank you will give this a try, do I have to have the Enable Basic Firewall Protection ON for the pingback protection to work?

I didn’t want to enable the basic protection because one of the setting is limit the file size and and I need to be able to allow file upload up to 30MB.

Hi, you don’t have to have the Enable Basic Firewall Protection on.
