Buddy Press and Elementor Pro
-
So despite the advertisement found at https://elementor.com/help/plugins-and-addons-for-elementor/ where it claims Elementor works with Buddypress (note there are no addons to support BuddyPress listed in that page’s list) I can confirm that in no way shape or form does Elementor work WITH BuddyPress.
At best all you can do is build around BuddyPress pages leaving you to have a site half in and half out of the theme you are seeking to create.
Issues I am seeing are that in block insertion of a BuddyPress widget simply fail. Once they fail the widget is removed and permanently lost to Elementor’s widget list. It cant be found within the block it was inserted and it can no longer be found or selected to attempt to use again. Any page with BuddyPress core functions will not be understood by Elemmentor, so it will simply dump page function from view in safe mode.
What would also be nice would be to have a

version compatibility list
, I am sure I will be asked eventually by the vendor what versions of WP, BP, Elementor, etc I am using. I’ll let you guys guess at that because you are letting us guess at that as well.
I can also confirm that Elementor’s ticket support system and pre-sales system is a black hole when it comes to replying to paying customers. Our target for development is to work with vendors that respond to our requests, so part of our strategy in taking on new projects is about actually driving the car we are seeking to build. If you can not get a vendor to supply your car parts or in this case respond to tickets in a reasonable amount of time you probably do not want to use their parts in your build. High-volume websites and critical functions can not be supported by vendors that count their ticket replies in DAYS, we work in minutes.
Yes, I am aware that there are tons and tons of plugins offering to fix these issues, some for free and some quite costly. I am however in the business of consuming software for web development, not troubleshooting vendor software issues, or doubling my cost of investment for software that doesn’t work as claimed to actually force it to work as claimed. If Elementor EXPECTS US to install a plugin to work as advertised, it needs to specifically TELL US what that plugin is. (by example, put it in the link I put above or by answering our ticket) or go back to the drawing board on cross-compatibility, or withdraw its claims it’s making about BuddyPress compatibility.
Note if I am sounding prudish or rude, we are not the ones selling a product that doesn’t work out of the box as advertised. We are the ones not answering support tickets, nor are we the ones with absolutely ZERO mention of these issues on our website. Lord forbid anyone has a standard in the world of WordPress development.
