    Hi –

Hoping / Wondering if you’ve looked at using Network Posts Extended to display feed visible on a BuddyBoss user profile page?

Would need some trick to grab the ID of the profile user and then call the network posts/custom posts types.

    Thanks for your time.

What kind of feed did you want to display? Individual user feeds? So get post type by user ID? Or just have them work normally on any buddypress page?

thanks for your reply and interest

after years of heartburn last night I gave up on Buddypress and Buddyboss… and am looking for another way…

my key intent is to associate content, in particular, posts by authors on subsites to be seen/indexed on user profile on the mainsite

I’m using Paid Memberships Pro which has a Directory / Member profile option that I think will be straight forward to add custom fields

the custom fields could include something like Network Posts Extended

I’m not sure how default WP “author” profile would work with PMPro at this point but at least it’s not the convoluted database tables and wonky syncing, or “hire a developer to add a custom field” that is buddypress/buddyboss

I know enough php to copy and paste but not much more than that

    so…

would it be possible to somehow get profile user id and find posts/cpt on subsites?

    thanks

Basically did you want to list posts by user id?

yes, but … user ID of the member profile user not the viewer just to be clear

    also —

cautious/confused about username, userid and what can be called where [I seem to recall issues in the past about calling posts by username vs id across the network].

    thanks

I would implement an argument like author_id= and if there is more than one user with the same id you would just include the following: include_blog=.

how would you get the author_id from the member page to add to the NPE shortcode?

Most membership plugins also generate a general user id also. Will this not be the case in your situation?

I started trying to outline the different scenarios of conditions/roles/levels etc – but I really don’t know how that stuff is organized yet —

more critically I don’t know how the Member Profile Page gets generated – whether it uses a unique PMPro membership ID or simple WP.

I think PMPro relies upon WP protocols so I was hoping there was a sort of universal ID to at least try it

    Not yet anyway.
