BuddyPress and Domain Names in Multi-Site
-
(1) Can a multi-site install (root – the hub) host a BuddyPress install in a child site and have its child blogs emanate from there?
(2) If number 1 above can be done, then would the root site be independent of the BuddyPress’ child sites? In other words, would the blogs emanating from the BuddyPress install see it as the hub rather than the main domain (the root domain)?
(3) In a multi-site install can a domain name be pointed to a child site (i.e., First.mysite.com) so when one enters the domain name they will be pointed to the child site? (using multi-site install as First.mysite.com, Second.mysite.com, etc., and have wild card domains set successfully). I do not mean a simple redirect to First.mysite.com, but rather, for instance, MyBlog.com so the visitor will see the latter on every page and post of the site.
(4) If number 3 above can be done, it would seem that after creating the child site and after pointing your domain to that site, all references such as First.mysite.com would have to be changed to MyBlog.com. Is this correct?
