    Can’t answer 1 (or 2 really) since this is just for WordPress and you’d need to check at BuddyPress.org BUT…

    The WP install for BuddyPress is just WordPress MultiUser and since most plugins that work for WP work on WPMU, they should also work on BuddyPress.

    Mind you the reverse isn’t true ?? Things that work on BP and WPMU may not work on regular WP ??
