Buddypress extension – points for joining groups

    Hey posting here because this link is giving a 500 error…

    Recently launched a new site with wordpoints and the buddypress extension. Think there is an issue with points being awarded for joining groups. Users are racking up loads of points!

    Sorry, just noticed the type is configured as:

    Join Group
    Joining a group on the BuddyPress social network.

    Award To (cannot be changed)
    Group >> Creator

    Does this mean the points get awarded to the group creator even when someone else joins the group?!

    If so my bad, I guess I should have selected User! Oops!

    Yes, that’s right, the points will be awarded to the group creator when somebody joins their group if you select that. You needed to select “User” instead to award the points to the user joining the group. Sorry for the confusion!

    No problem, my mistake. Perhaps ‘User’ should be the default option for Award to for that type though… ??
