Ok, I installed buddypress and the majority of it’s addons. Like others on the internet I can’t register on the page any more. SimulPoster.com
    is my page.

I’ve posted for help in buddypress forums, but it seems pretty dead in there.

    Settings > BuddyPress > Pages

Is were you see it say there is no page selected for Register or Activate. I can only select: Activity, Gropus, or Members for the registraiton or activate page, or create a new page. I can’t link it to anything. As you can see trying to register only brings you to the /register/ page that doesn’t exist.

Does anyone know how to create a register page, or install some pluging that creates a register page ?

  • @usacomputertec It’s surprising that you have so many issues in your new installation. Let’s start at the beginning. How did you install WordPress? Manually or via webhost one click install? If you used the one-click script, then I suggest that you start from scratch and upload WordPress manually and reinstall. Otherwise, you’re going to have many issues when you activate BuddyPress.

Your issues with the redirect loops you have posted are uncommon with a default BP installation. What do you have in your .htaccess file? Where are you hosted? Linux or Windows hosting?

Yep I installed via the webhost install. I’m hosted on smallbusiness.yahoo.com and that’s BSD I think.
Last time I tried uploading anything myself and installing it, the mysql got so screwed up they had to reset my entire site, and I had pro’s helping me.

@usacomputertec You will have to install WordPress manually and have full control of your installation if you want to activate BuddyPress. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#Detailed_Instructions

    This might just work.
