    Hi guys,

I followed your recommendations before creating a new topic. Let me first say that I’ve tried User Ultra Lite, and Pro, as well as User Pro on Code Canyon, and both have been around for longer and sold quite a bit, and your plugin beats them both hands down on speed, ease of use, functionality, setup, and every other thing I can think of.

MY expectations are very high for you now, and I hope you can deliver a great pro version of this.

So my problem is that not all of the profile images from buddy press transfer over to yours. My hunch is that only the gravatar-based, and not the self hosted images transfer. shouldn’t they transfer over?

Thank you very much for the kind words, we appreciate that ??

Let me answer the two points you brought in your topic.

    1. We do not have any plan to release a PRO version for this plugin, Ultimate Member will always be free, forever. However we will release extensions that will extend the functionality of the plugin and deliver only the features people need. View our trello roadmap here: https://trello.com/b/30quaczv/ultimate-member

    2. When we built UM we have decided to not make it compatible with BuddyPress, or integrate it with BuddyPress as you’ll notice from the description and feature list and tags we did not mention buddypress even once. The thing is that we aim to be a competitor of BuddyPress so it does not make sense to integrate with them, with all respect that it has way more features, we have plans and believe we can deliver a good competition through our add-ons which will offer more community based features, so when users ask us a similar question we recommend to them to choose between both plugins. While I understand that UM does not have yet some features that are in BuddyPress we are planning to do these features prettier and more solid and user friendly in the future. That’s why custom photos won’t appear in buddypress profiles, because they operate its own profile, and UM has its own profile, a few features are mixed which may be a conflict or causes a misunderstanding if you use both plugins together.

    Thanks ??

I totally agree on buddypress, but all I’m really asking for is a tool to help me migrate the photos over, otherwise I’ll have to do it manually for hundreds of them.. even if it’s a third party tool/plugin…anything like that? And once I transfer everything over I can get rid of buddypress on my site(s)

or even a method to migrate them that does not involve manual cut/paste or manual work.

Are you looking to migrate the buddypress custom photos to users in UM? Sorry misunderstand the first post. I think you want to move all user profile photos from buddypress to UM right? if so, that’s possible, we can work on a migration tool that does this and add it in our plugin.

    Thank you

I’ve just pushed an update which contains a built-in addon, see addons section in the UM settings, it has a bp avatar transfer enable it and try it please. It should copy uploaded avatars to respective user uploads in UM and make it their avatar. Please test and let me know.

    Thanks!

    You’re welcome!

    Hi

I am trying your plugin and I am impressed for what I am seeing. We should move into its direction anytime.

But we have a fundamental issue with our 70,000 users with avatars (we use User Avatar plugin, that uses same Buddypress folder and file structure – /uploads/avatars/[user id]/….bp-full and bp-thumb at the end of files).

I activate the “BuddyPress Avatar Transfer” but still not seeing the Avatars.

There is anything we have to do or you think we may have a problem as we have 70,000 users?

    Thank you,
