[BuddyPress version] Upgrading is connected to original plugin.

I’m aware that this plugin isn’t supported by the original developer, however this is the only way I know of to contact the second author, as the mediatricks website is unreachable.

After installation the plugin prompts for an upgrade; however, the upgrade connects to the WordPress version and takes away the BP alterations. I cheated a fix by editing the version number to match the WordPress one, but that’s only a temporary fix.

With that in mind, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to have the BuddyPress version as its own, separate plugin to avoid upgrade conflicts?
