Bug?

  • I created a post as one user. By mistake, I marked it as private.. my mistake.. but it happened.

    Later, when i switched over to admin, I was surprised that my posting was gone. I didnt know what happened…

    So I rewrote it.. and I happened to give it the same slug as the private one.

    Now, on the single page, the private posting suddenly appears after the public one (because they have the same slug).

    I can understand the slug thing.. but shouldn’t the fact that it was private keep it from being visible?

  • I was under the impression that private posts showed to other users, but I’m not sure. I never use that status except to “delete” old posts.

    Yeah, I had never used it before, that’s why I was surprised when the post dissappeared (I must have hit the private selection by mistake).
    I can see how the sql would get a little complicated when dealing with “private” postings, on top of category filtering, etc.
    Its not really a problem for me anymore, I just don’t use the private option.. just wondering if its a bug in wordpress itself.

    BTW.. I installed your youtube plugin a few days ago.. great job!

    As far as I remember – private is visible only to its author.
