Hi, when creating an event, if you delete the “Tickets” block on the post page and then publish the event, the event page will show a 404 error. And when you go back to edit the post, the date/time block is now broken and unable to be edited.

If I leave the Event Tickets block in place before publishing the event, everything works normally.

It seems either the Tickets block needs to be locked so people can’t delete it. Or, there’s a bug that needs to be fixed when deleting.

I tested this with the default WP theme and non-TEC plugins deactivated. Using the latest versions of all. (We are using TEC, Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, and Virtual Events).

    Hi @lsterling03

I’m glad you brought this to our attention, I can see how this issue impacts your ability to publish your events.

We’ve created an internal ticket TEC-5041 to address this issue and I’ve included your specific use case in it to communicate it to our team.

We prioritize bugs by taking into consideration the number of users impacted as well as how the bug impacts one’s ability to run an event/sell tickets. I don’t have a specific timeline as to when this issue will be resolved, but trust that our team is aware. Our team communicates updates and bug fixes in our newsletter and via our changelog.

In the meantime, as a workaround, do not delete the Tickets block before publishing the event. If no ticket is created, then the block won’t show up. And you can delete the block afterward.

I’m happy to help if any other questions are coming up around this topic, otherwise I’ll go ahead and close this ticket.

Thanks again for reporting this issue and for using The Events Calendar and Event Tickets! Have a great day.
