BUG? 6.4.1 update removes top bar

Hi there. There is no known bug with 6.4.1 version of WP. What the issue probably is after looking at your home page is the following javascript error, you can see it in your browser dev tools:

Uncaught SyntaxError: Invalid or unexpected token on line 107 of your page.

If you view the source of the page in your browser and scroll to line 107 you’ll see some Facebook tracking code followed by what looks like over 130 thousand slashes causing the javascript error.

Thank you, are you aware of this though? This started after the update. It goes on for quite a while. Here is a snippet of errors in the console related to the javascript file of Beaver Builder itself:

Anyone else reported this issue of the WordPress top bar disappearing after clicking BB link on it?

The only issue we know of right now is a conflict with the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin after their latest update. It’s supposed to contain a fix for Beaver Builder but seems to be causing this problem instead.

Other users have had success with downgrading SiteOrigin plugin. You can get a recent version here to downgrade: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/advanced/ (scroll to the bottom).

Thank you Jamie, I “rolled back” to v. 1.55. And now the bar still disappears BUT when I hover over the page, the BB sections show the controls.

Will be looking forward to THEIR updates. I rarely update WP immediately for that very reason. Let them find and fix the bugs before committing to an update. Except this time. I’ll go back to that though.

Hopefully they are aware of the issue. I don’t see a support forum thread so you could try posting in there to let them know.

When we’ve tried to replicate it, we haven’t been able to. It seems we’re missing a piece of the puzzle to replicate it but we’ve had 2-3 reports of it now and downgrading has worked so I do think there’s something there as a bug.

I just wanted to add in that I am having the issue as well. I downgraded the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle?to 1.55.0 and the issue has stopped with Beaver Builder. Thanks.

Thanks crestfalleen, I confirm that doing so has allowed me to use BB again. I have not yet contacted Site Origin about this, though.
