    When creating new product in WooCommerce (Astra theme) the page gets hung. Hosting company’s technical support has confirmed the issue is with WooCommerce

    I replicated the scenario on my personal site running on the default Storefront theme, however, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.

    Can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled and see if this works?

    If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

    If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

    If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

    You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

    If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Thanks for sharing the details above.

    Please could you clarify if this is a recent issue that popped up, and if so, were any changes/updates made to your site and/or server prior to this occurring?

    Also, does this occur with all products or only certain products?

    In the meantime, can you try the following:

    1. Clear your browser cache and then try creating a new product.
    2. Try creating a new product in WooCommerce using a different browser.
    3. Try creating a new product in WooCommerce using a different device.

    Hi! Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions:

    I could add new products before I upgraded to WordPress 6.2.

    I can not add any product now (so, it occurs with all products).

    On PC I tried Chrome and Edge. Cleared cache. Does not help. Can not add new products.

    Tried in Chrome on Mac. Can add new product alright.

    Any ideas on how I can make it work on my PC?

    Thanks for providing clarity!

    Now that we have narrowed this down to only occurring on your PC, this could be related to your computing environment, more than your site itself.

    Can you try disabling any browser extensions or add-ons to see if any of these might be interfering with the product addition process?

    Also, can you check that your Chrome and Edge versions are updated to their latest? You can check this using the Browse Happy site.

    If none of the above make any difference, can you try turning off “Hardware acceleration” in Google Chrome by navigating to your browser Settings → System, as seen below:

    Once disabled, you need to close the browser and open it again.

    Hi!

    Thanks for your suggestions! Unfortunately, all the above steps did not help. Deleted all extensions, versions of Chrome and Edge are most up-to-date, turned off Hardware acceleration … the problem still remains, I can not add new products.

    I am not so sure this is the problem of my PC as I could add new products until I upgraded WordPress to 6.2. Also, I tried Firefox browser now and I CAN add new products in Firefox.

    Since the issue is no longer present when using Firefox, it is most likely not related to the site.

    If you wish to continue using Chrome, I recommend checking the browser console for any error logs before the freeze occurs. You can share them with us here or copy-paste them into a Google search for more context.
