When the scanner detects a post with a suspected malware URL, it sends an email notification. It works fine in a single-site installation, but in a Multisite installation, the email contains the name of the network, rather than the name of the individual site within the network.

So, the admin has to search each site in the network until they find the post.

  • Hi Ian,
I agree with you the alert email should contain more details including the exact site where this post was published, this has been reported to our team (internal reference number: #FB5192) but the admin can always check the scan result where more information like “Multisite Blog ID”, “Multisite Blog Domain” and “Multisite Blog Path” are appearing there, even a direct link to the blog post, so no need to search every site for it.

    Thanks.

Ah, I didn’t realize that, thanks! It might be good to add a link to that in the email, since otherwise most users probably won’t realize it either.
