• I’ve been using Yoast SEO for years. I put off updates because they sometimes screw up the functionality of other plugins. Eventually, WordPress will force an update. Yesterday, I decided to go ahead and update the plugin as soon as I was notified of the change. What a mistake. It killed off my AddThis Share and Follow plugins. I’m not sure what else the update has affected. I’ll have to check each plugin now.

Once before when this happened, out of sheer desperation, I edited the code, substituting the number of an older version. It worked. I just did it again, changing the version # to one from a month ago. It worked.

I’ve seen many complaints about Yoast slowing down sites. Still, I’ve felt the benefits outweighed the problems. But I’m getting tired of bug fixes that cause more bugs.
