    WP – Current
Mystile theme – Current (no child)
    Yoast – Current

I have tried disabling all plugins but Yoast & waiting for re-crawl. Did not help

I am using the Yoast plugin for my SEO.

I just searched for one of my products and the snippet Google is supposed to pull is NOT the one being displayed in the search results. Furthermore, my new blog posts are all displaying the incorrect meta.

I am using the same blurb across all meta / social fields (main, twitter, fb & g+) and the meta shows up correctly on the other sites (when I share on FB etc).

My older content is fine. Kinda. I will try to describe my issues clearly.

For products, google seems to be pulling the first paragraph of the ‘Product Short Description’ (woocommerce / mystile theme). Google obviously cuts this description off after the limit is reached. Like this:

For the blog, it’s doing 2 things.

The older content is sometimes correct; other times it pulls the first sentence of the Yoast SEO meta then throws in a bunch of other stuff after the snippet.

For newer content, google seems to be pulling the blog post title and some random text from somewhere on my site. Google is also referencing a Sailor Moon art piece I made a long time ago. I’m including screencaps of what I have entered with the YOAST plugin VS google’s results. Like this:

‘First Preview’ was written BEFORE 3.0 came out
    ‘Second Preview’ is using 3.0

Also. I know my site is murder on the eyes. Sorry about that. I’m really busy and barely have time to manage my site; much less tweak it.

    rollback to version 2.3.5.

It fixed the issue for me

Vijay, does your theme support core ‘title-tag’ (introduced in wordpress 4.1 update)? If so, do me a favor and hover your mouse over your webpage tab and check your title: is it the one in the meta or is it simply the Blog name + page (or post name)? I have one install running on YOAST 2.3.5 and one on 3.0.6. The one running 2.3.5 is not using the meta title but just adding the page (or post) name to the blog post. 3.0.6 is showing the correct titles from meta. My theme supports core title-tag so I am guessing the issue is with 2.3.5 not handling this well (as it was released before the WP4.1 Update).

I removed core ‘title-tag’ support from theme on install running YOAST 2.3.5 and title metas are now showing correctly. Something to keep in mind for those sticking to YOAST v2.3.5 (if you are running WP 4.1 or higher and your theme supports core ‘title-tag’, you’ll need to either disable support for core ‘title-tag’ in your theme or upgrade back to 3.0.6 if you want your meta titles to show up correctly)

Hi, Al_Photog – Thanks for your feedback. Yes my theme supports ‘title-tag’.

I had the problem only on my homepage. It pulls a title which I have no where entered. I checked all the possible fields where we can enter title, but the title which is displayed on google is found no where on my site. When I rolled back to 2.3.5, after 3 days my original title showed up on google.

I am currently testing it on some of my sites. Let me update you if i found something interesting!

Until I read this thread I didn’t realize I had the same problem as the OP with my new posts. My old posts and pages seem OK from what I can tell, but my new ones don’t even seem to have been crawled at all. They don’t even appear when I google my site name together with the key words. WTF?

I have now deactivated this plugin, and don’t know what to do. I know some people have rolled back to the last previous 2.XX version. I did download it earlier. However, that’s not really the answer in the long-term.

I am afraid of uninstalling the Yeost SEO plug-in since reading the reports from people who have had problems with their sites vanishing after the uninstall. At this point colour me very disappointed.

I have used the free version of this product for years now, and while a few bugs after a major re-vamp are expected, this is starting to be reminiscent of the NGG plug-in retool that was done a few years ago when Photogratti bought it and broke things. I’m still using the last stable version before their purchase, and crossing my fingers every time there’s a WP update that my galleries still work. I don’t want another plugin where I have the same worries.

I’m using Weaver II as my theme, and Yeost SEO on the majority of my websites (3+). Yikes… Any suggestions what to do? I’m not a techie, so coding is not in my wheelhouse.
