    Hi there,

we just realised on a live site that since one of your current updates, custom image sizes aren’t generated properly anymore. Where a slider needs its 2000x600px sized custom image size, when checking (or leaving checked) “Check if plugin should try to show higher resolution images to HiDPI (retina) screens.”, images are being generated too small. They are actually 1024x308px, while nothing else had changed. As soon as I disable that setting in your plugin and reupload some image, the sizes are fine again. Did you come across this in any way already?
I use Imsanity (like many others) to restrict the possibly maximum size an image can have, which is set at 2048x2048px. So far it hadn’t conflicted, maybe it is something in conjunction with your plugin? Disabling Imsanity didn’t change anything, only unticking your setting helped ;).

    All the best

    Hello, there,

May I have a look at a page with such a problem to debug the issue? I haven’t come accross this anywhere else up to now!

    Cheers,

    Hi Takis,

unfortunately, as this is a live site, I am not able to go back to the faulty version, as the problem resided on the home page of the site. I tried to reproduce it on its testing site, but wasn’t able to. One difference is that the live site uses WP Rocket which, from what I read here, interferes with your plugin, but hadn’t read that it does in the way I experienced it.

    All the best

    Hello, Eno,

We ‘ll keep an eye n this one, should it happen again in the future.

However, it sounds something like a caching issue most probably. But perhaps it is a browser cache issue! You see, the dimension 1024 is the default one that the plugin will choose if it cannot find out the actual dimension of a device or when the resolution cookie is not set.

As for WPRocket we actually have no compatibility issues with it. That is unless it is combined with a CDN, but then the compatibility problems are caused by the CDN.

Let me know if there is anything else you need.

    Cheers,
    Takis

    Hi Takis,

I strongly believe it must have to do with caching, as it is not enabled on the testing site.

It sounded as if there were issues (just read it in another thread), but happy to hear it is more connected to CDN than the plugin itself :).

All the best so far & thank you so much
