• The image file advertising-outreach.gif would not display as a thumbnail in the Media Library, but it did display when edited. The link to the image worked, but it would not appear in a post either when editing or viewing.

Shortening the name to ad-reach.gif solved the problem.

My theme support guy had no trouble uploading and using the image, and this is the only Media Library plugin I had installed, so I deduce that the problem was caused by a conflict with the plugin.

The problem may have resulted from the length of the name, or from some hash-value concocted from it. Either way, renaming the file solved the problem.

It’s a very handy plugin to have, so I won’t be deactivating it any time soon. Just recording the bug and the workaround for future reference.

  • I am having the same issue. The issue remained after I deactivated the plug-in. Renaming has not solved the problem.

The image is a single page pdf that previously loaded very quickly. Now the image loads very slowly, displays, then disappears. The page remains blank.
