When editing draft posts the Gutenberg plugin removed the parent page from each post and set them to “no parent”.

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you had some issues there, could you share a bit more about your scenario as I was unable to reproduce it on my own site?

Do you have a large amount of pages, and were these existing drafts from before Gutenberg was activated?

    No problem.

I’m working locally in wamp, with the latest version of WordPress. The posts were imported from html into draft pages using the html2 import plugin.

When importing I gave them parent pages and they are all in place when using the regular editor.

When I tried editing a couple of pages with gutenberg, I converted them to blocks. I didn’t notice whether the parent page had been removed before that or not but they were both missing after I saved them. I had to stop using Gutenberg due to the issue in my other post so I only worked on two pages before switching back to the regular editor.

Sorry, my original post should have said “pages”, not “posts”.

I’m afraid I’m unable to replicate this still, I imported 20 pages with parents, the parents show up in the classic editor. I then changed to Gutenberg, the parent pages were still appearing here as well.

Would you be able to confirm this happens for you even if Gutenberg is the only other active plugin and the Twenty Seventeen theme is used?

Sorry, no. The flashing of the block outlines gave me a migraine seizure so I stopped using it after only 2 pages. I’m not willing to go through that again.
